The Transparency Campaign of McDonald’s? Prepare to Be Shocked

It would fair enough if we assume that in McDonald’s French fries there are 3 ingredients: potatoes, salt and oil. But if you assumed that you’d be far from correct.

McDonald’s actually began a transparency campaign. The intention was to market a healthier conscious image of McDonald’s Corp. and utilize social media more effectively. However, instead of talking about their love for the world known brand, the hashtag became a forum for people to talk about how disgusting the food is.

The Transparency Campaign of McDonald's

McDonald’s recently released a McRib video attempting to convince consumers that it’s not as bad as it seems.

But they failed to talk about the toxic ingredients discussed in this article.

It turns out that there are in fact 17 ingredients in McDonald’s French fries!

They contain:

Potatoes: (Yummy!? Until the moment you watch the video below)

Canola oil:

One word – GMO

Hydrogenated soybean oil:

GMO again! Plus the hydrogenation process makes the oil even more unhealthy than it would be in its natural form.

Safflower oil:

Inflammation is the root cause of most diseases. Eating not enough Omega-3 fatty acids and too much Omega-6’s is one of the quickest ways to become inflamed. Safflower oil contains a high level of Omega-6’s and unfortunately absolutely no Omega-3’s! This link will give you more info.

McDonald’s ”Natural flavor”:

Apparently is obtained from a vegetable source, but the “natural” moniker means nothing since it can even potentially contain MSG – the nerve – and brain-toxin monosodium glutamate.

Dextrose: a type of sugar.

Sodium acid pyrophosphate:

This ingredient is used to maintain the color of the fries. On the chemical industry’s own safety data sheets it is listed as hazardous for ingestion. It causes inflammation. The over-consumption leads to elevated blood phosphorus levels. This may contribute to osteoporosis.

Citric acid:

Does that mean they’re really using lemon juice? Maybe in a perfect world, but they’re taking the more profitable road. They are using GMO black mold. The following link will give you more information.

Dimethylpolysiloxane:

You’ll find it in almost any fried fast food menu item and also in contact lenses, silly putty, shampoo and conditioners, caulking,  cosmetics, polishes, heat resistant tiles, and the list just continues… Want to know more about Dimethylpolysiloxane? Click on the following link.

Vegetable oil for frying includes 7 ingredients:

canola oil (GMO), corn oil (GMO),  soybean oil (GMO), hydrogenated soybean oil with tert-butylhydroquinone (GMO), dimethylpolysiloxane and citric acid (GMO).

A petroleum-based preservative- TBHQ.

There is a link to skin conditions, asthma, hormone disruption, and in long-term animal studies to cancer and damage to DNA. We can find this additive in 18 McDonald’s menu items. It’s potentially lethal, but don’t worry, the FDA says it’s “GRAS” – generally regarded as safe .

Contrary to what McDonald’s may claim in its slogan, I’m NOT lovin’ it!
