How to Make Homemade Pure and Natural Deodorant?

Do you want to stop using deodorant because you have irritated armpits? All those chemical beauty products can actually be harmful for our general health.  Here are the best recipes for natural, homemade and economical antiperspirant.

Side Effects of Using Deodorant

All people use a lot these cosmetic products. Even if we don’t pay attention what are they made of, we use them on daily basis because it’s easy and practical. They could actually cause serious skin problems. The majority of deodorant brands use aluminum chlorohydrate . This chemical ingredient goes into our pores and doesn’t allow them to “breath”. That’s why we don’t sweat. Probably that is the deodorant’s job and that’s why we buy it.

But the problem is that it actually interrupts the natural process of temperature regulation. Therefore, it is stopping the body from working like it should, cooling the areas where it shouldn’t, which could be a problem for the body. There are also some studies that show that the frequent use of deodorant can cause breast cancer. Its substances penetrate deep in the skin and are deposited in this area because of how close the armpit is to it.

Using deodorant is not so good! When you stop using it, you actually smell worse. This is due to the substances of the product which remains “stuck” on your armpits. The same is happening on clothing.

Therefore, you have two options: buy deodorant that doesn’t have aluminum salts or simply prepare at home your own antiperspirant.

Homemade Deodorant: Recipe 6

This recipe has two ways to prepare it: standard and special for sensitive skin. For the first one you will need:

  • 1/4 cup of baking soda
  • 1/4 cup of corn starch
  • 10 drops of tea tree oil
  • 3 tablespoons of coconut oil

For the second one you will need:

  • 3 tablespoons of coconut oil

As an option for both, you can use whichever essential oils you like. If you want to moisturize your skin more, use vitamin E or almond oil.

Mix the baking soda with the cornstarch and tea tree oil in a cup or bowl. Add coconut oil and stir gently until it forms a paste. This is the time to add almond oil or vitamin E. You can also add in essential oils with whatever fragrance you like, like lavender, eucalyptus, sandalwood or rose. Use only few drops because they give very strong aroma. Put it into a deodorant stick. First it will be a little creamy and smooth.  After few days, it will be the same as the ones you buy in the store.
