Almost any fruit is considered as a great snack, but we usually want to pair it with a little bit of protein so we don’t feel hungry and to make it more satisfying. Proteins actually help sustain our energy and hunger levels for a couple of hours.

Our choice for a protein-fruit pairing: one cup of skim milk and one large apple. This “couple” will give you 5 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein for just over 200 calories. It’s one of the best solutions for burning fat snacks.

  • 1 small pear, halved and cored
  • 1/4 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

It’s simple recipe: Preheat toaster oven. Place pear on a baking sheet; broil 10- 12 minutes until soft and tender. Combine cinnamon and ricotta in a small bowl. Top warm pear with ricotta mixture and enjoy in the flavor while you burn fat!

  • Cooking spray or olive oil
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 small zucchini, sliced
  • 1 large red bell pepper, chopped

 

Place a medium skillet coated with olive oil or cooking spray over medium heat until hot. Add zucchini, mushrooms and bell pepper to pan. Sauté 3 – 5 minutes or until vegetables are soft and tender. Spoon about 3/4 cup vegetable mixture over black bean mixture on each tostada. Top with lettuce, cheese and salsa.
